Meet your 2016 leadership team ... raring to go!

Some of our team have been active in PRSA leadership for years, while others are new to the team. Here’s a little about each of them:

Meghann Craig, President

I am lucky to work with a lovely bunch of talented people that make me laugh (a LOT), inspire and challenge me to be better at my craft in the world of word-of-mouth marketing. Highlights of my day job at Powerhouse Factories, where I am senior WOMM producer, include planning media tours/influencer events and leading blogger/media relations in the home & design, food and CPG space. I’m also married to an outstanding cook who usually puts a wrench in my diet, but does so with love. When I’m not at the office I’m chasing my one-year-old daughter around the house and doing anything for smiles and giggles.

Chris Holtman, President-Elect/Secretary

Hi, PR pros! I’m Chris – President-Elect for PRSA Cincinnati. Currently, I’m a senior account executive at Wordsworth Communications where I manage a number of accounts for the organization. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to manage communications, public relations and social media for a number of organizations and non-profits, including Convergys Corp., NorthWest Arkansas Community College, Celebrate Arkansas Magazine, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

If I’m not volunteering my time with PRSA or the University of Cincinnati Communication Department, you can find me exploring Cincinnati with my dog, Captain Steve, in tow!

Darcy Schwass, Vice President of Programming

I’m a senior account executive with Vehr Communications, where I recently celebrated my fifth anniversary! I’ve been working in the Cincy PR scene since 2007 and have been a member of our board/leadership team in several capacities over the years. I’m excited to lead programming this year and encourage all of you to send me any great programming ideas you have! Reach out anytime to dschwass@vehrcommunications.com.

Jay Brock, Treasurer

Really doesn’t know a stranger.

Doppelganger for John Malkovich.

Loves Jazz, Cincinnati, connecting people, doing laundry, and moving brands forward.

Super geeked for his term as treasurer of PRSA Cincinnati!

Shara Clark, APR, Past President

Shara Clark.jpg

I started my passion for PR as a PRSSA student at Miami University. After graduation, I immediately joined the Cincinnati PRSA chapter, which has always provided great networking and education for me throughout my career. The first 15 years of my career were split between a variety of local nonprofits (AQP, United Way and the American Diabetes Association) and Great American Insurance Group. I earned my APR in 2013 and started as an adjunct professor at Miami University. In 2014, I made the leap of faith to leave the corporate world and head to the classroom full time where I teach a variety of PR and social media courses and serve as the PRSSA faculty adviser. I still do some freelance and volunteer PR work, but now I spend most of my time trying to develop the next generation of PR professionals!

Bridget Kochersperger, Membership

Bridget Kochersperger.jpg

I work as a PR manager at Covington-based PR firm Scooter Media, providing media relations and social media strategies to small and mid-sized clients in Greater Cincinnati. A transplant from Cleveland, I graduated from Ohio University (go Bobcats!) and moved to Cincinnati in 2010. I now live in Fort Thomas  with my husband. For the past two years, I've served the chapter as Digital Strategist, and was involved on the Cincinnati PRSA New Pros committee as well. I'm excited to take on the role of Director of Membership for Cincinnati PRSA in 2016.

Stephanie Honan, APR, Accreditation

I am a vice president and marketing manager for Fifth Third Bank. Prior to this role, I spent 11 years in the Bank’s Corporate Communications department managing media relations and internal communications for our retail and credit card lines of business.  Outside of work I am proud to serve as the marketing/communications lead for my local American Cancer Society Relay for Life event and enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters.

Jonathan Kissell, APR, Ethics

I'm honored to serve as the Ethics Director for Cincinnati PRSA. When considering PR, I never imagined communicating professionally about trash and recycling, but I've been fortunate to discover an exciting career at Rumpke Waste & Recycling since 2005. I also enjoy teaching as a part-time instructor at Miami University.

Lauren Doyle, APR, Member at Large

Hello… I’m Lauren Doyle, vice president at Wordsworth Communications. I’ve been a member of the PRSA leadership team since 2009 – feels like just yesterday! By day, I guide clients through the strategies and tactics that help them protect and burnish their reputations. By night, I’m a dog mama to my five-year-old black lab/border collie, Crosley. You’ll often find him running me ragged in Over-the-Rhine!

Michelle Hopkins, Diversity

Hi I'm Michelle Hopkins, chair of the Diversity Committee for PRSA. Some of you may know me from my career as a TV news journalist at two stations in Cincinnati, WCPO and WLWT.

I'm currently the director of community engagement for Mercy Health, helping with the work of transitioning our new home office to Bond Hill/Roselawn. I find community connections that help make Mercy Health a good corporate citizen and help fulfill the very important mission of improving the health of our communities with an emphasis on people who are poor and underserved.

Join me and other PR colleagues on the Diversity Committee -- we'd love to have you serve with us! You can reach me at mrhopkins@fuse.net.

Jenny Dexter, APR, Community Service

I have been in the communications field throughout my 28-year career.  Currently, I am the director of community relations with Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, where I have been for 14 years. Previous positions have been with the Mental Health Board in Warren/Clinton Counties and ABX Air in Wilmington.  My bachelor’s degree is in public relations from Eastern Kentucky University.  I became an APR in 2011.  Having deposited my only son at UC this past fall, I am a recent empty-nester.  Go Bearcats!  If you want to join me on the Community Relations team, email me at jenny.dexter@hamilton.dds.org.

Coral Dill, Sponsorship

Coral Dill.jpg

I moved to Cincinnati about four years ago, from Vancouver, B.C.  I currently serve as the manager of communications & development at Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in North College Hill. I have loved learning the ins and outs of Cincinnati’s strong non-profit sector, and look forward to putting my development experience to work, as the sponsorship chair with Cincinnati’s PRSA chapter.

JD Bruewer, Blacksmith Awards

After a career in print journalism, I was drawn to PR by the desire to continue telling stories that make a difference. First in health care and now with Hamilton County Job and Family Services, I get to do work that makes lives better. I recently returned to Cincinnati after many years away and I'm enjoying getting reacquainted with the city. I look forward to making the 2016 Blacksmith Awards a night to remember.

Joy Landry, Blacksmith Awards

I’ve spent most of my career in environmental-based, local government public relations and am currently the public relations specialist for Hamilton County Environmental Services. I really enjoy promoting positive activities, such as recycling and composting, that are good for our local environment and bring value to our communities. When I accepted one of my first communications jobs after college, I was still terrified of public speaking and I knew it was an important part of this job. So it forced me to conquer a professional fear and become a more well-rounded PR pro.

If you are interested in serving on the Blacksmiths team, email JD at jdbruewer@gmail.com or Joy at joy.landry@hamilton-co.org.

Robin Klaene, APR, Media Day

I am the public relations and development director for the Kenton County Public Library where I have worked going on 18 years. In this role I manage and oversee the library’s internal and external communications efforts. This includes developing, implementing and managing public relations activities including strategic communication plans, printed materials, special events, sponsor development, media relations, and social media activities to support library programs, services and profile. Several years ago the fundraising arm of the Library, the Kenton County Public Library Foundation, got rolled into my department and I oversee that as well.

When not at work, I can typically be found taking my two kids and their friends to and from soccer, volleyball, basketball and the seemingly endless array of activities in which they participate. Unless it’s summer, then I am at the pool.

If you are interested in serving on the Media Day team, email Robin at robin.klaene@kentonlibrary.org.

Kathleen Williams, APR, Content Strategist

I was a longtime newspaper journalist, happily bopping around at various newspapers until the recession in 2009 forced me to re-evaluate my chosen career – and choose a new one. I now work for Clermont County government, a job that I love in a career that I love. Becoming active in Cincinnati PRSA was the best thing I could have done once I switched careers. If you are interested in being part of the content team (i.e., writing the occasional blog,) please email me at kathleen.williams21@gmail.com.

Kelsey Noland, New Professionals

As a young professional, I am currently working at AGAR, a social intelligence and experiential marketing agency. My role as a project manager is more event than media-focused. As the new co-chair of PRSA's New Professionals I hope to keep our momentum rolling as we continue to find new ways to acclimate recent grads, and ourselves, into the professional world of public relations.

In my spare time I can be found working — because I'm a young professional and all I do is work and drink coffee.

Brianne Kistler, New Professionals

Hi there! My name is Brianne and I am a co-chair of the Cincinnati PRSA New Pros group. After graduating from Miami University in May 2015, I started my career at Wordsworth Communications as an assistant account executive, where I learn something new every day. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, reading, writing and exploring Cincinnati.

If you are interested in serving on New Pros, email Kelsey at kelsey@theagar.com or Brianne at bkistler@wordsworthweb.com.

Jill Dunne, Job Bank Coordinator

I feel lucky to have represented some of Greater Cincinnati’s most noteworthy services, products and attractions in my 15 years in PR. I’ve been director of marketing and communications at the Cincinnati Art Museum since late 2014. I absolutely love the Art Museum and it’s one of my favorite places in the Tri-State – I even got married here in 2009!

Rebecca Potzner, Digital Strategist

Hi, I’m Rebecca Potzner, a PR passionista, social media queen, music enthusiast, and event planner. I hold the role of social media manager at Game Day Communications where I manage creative content for client social media campaigns, compile quantitative social media reports for client campaigns and serve as an event-marketing liaison. I am also a part-time promotions coordinator for the country radio station, B105. I received my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Media Informatics from Northern Kentucky University. Go Norse! When I'm not working, you'll find me at a coffee shop, blogging for Twistonpr.com + Cincymusic.com or attending concerts and music festivals.

Elaine Zeinner, APR, Member at large: Elaine is content strategist at Inrinzic.

Eliot Campbell, Chapter Business Manager

I've been involved in Cincinnati PRSA since moving to the city in 2009, becoming a member and working as part of the Media Day committee for several years. In late 2013, I moved to India for a year, following my wife who took a work assignment. Shortly after returning to Cincinnati, I was lucky to have the opportunity to work as the Chapter Business Manager, and look forward to continuing in this role over the next year. At home, I also enjoy raising our 10-month-old daughter, Neela.
