Position: Director of Communications and Marketing
Reports to: President and CEO
The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority (The Port) is an economic development agency that leads complex projects to improve property values and promote job creation throughout Hamilton County. By utilizing its broad array of development tools and expertise, The Port catalyzes public and private investment, with a focus on real estate development, community revitalization and public finance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop, create and execute strategic communications and marketing plans to support The Port’s Mission and Vision.
Drive proactive outreach with key regional and national media targets; maintain ongoing, constructive relationships with all media outlets.
Effectively translate the complex work of The Port into compelling messages that resonate with key audiences.
Elevate The Port’s Mission and Vision by successfully reaching diverse audiences and key influencers through a variety of platforms and community engagement.
Deliver business results directly tied to Communications and Marketing activities and strategies.
Proven ability to drive results.
Confident and experienced public speaker.
Strong relationship management skills evidenced by ability to connect with key influencers, including community and neighborhood leaders.
Ability to deliver for internal and external clients.
Strong writing skills.
Sense of urgency.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Seven to 10 years in communications and/or marketing.
Community engagement and outreach experience preferred.
Experience working with executive leaders.
Develop and execute complex communications and marketing plans.
Proven management skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
