Kash Shaikh, External Relations Leader, Procter & Gamble Global Fabric Care, and PRWeek’s 40 under 40 list holder, takes you through two marquee cause programs – Tide Loads of Hope and Downy Touch of Comfort.
Kash joined P&G’s External Relations team in March 2003, quickly becoming one of the company’s most successful and respected leaders in Brand PR and Influencer Marketing. He was named one of PR Week’s “Ten Rising Stars in PR” in 2006 and honored as one of PR Week’s “40 under 40” the following year. In 2008, he was profiled as one of the “20 Emerging Leaders in PR” by Heyman Associates Inc. and the University of Alabama Public Relations Department’s National Leadership Project. Most recently, Kash was named a Marketer of the Year by Brandweek Magazine for his work on one of the largest product launches in the Tide brand’s 60 year history.
Moving quickly up and around P&G’s $80 Billion Consumer Products Goods empire, Kash has led business-building work on some of the company’s most iconic brands, including Tide, Olay, Downy, Old Spice, and SK-II. His career has been characterized by strong business integration, innovative influencer partnerships, and a penchant to change the game.
On Tide, Kash was the architect of the transformation of ‘fabric care to fashion care” behind the launch of Tide Total Care. Kash’s “Fashion Care” lifted Tide from the laundry room to the runway, inspiring partnerships with fashion Icons such as Tim Gunn and women’s apparel brands like Ann Taylor. Kash has also led some of the of the strongest Social Cause programs in the Company’s history, including Tide Loads of Hope, Olay Skin Cancer Awareness, and Downy Touch of Comfort. Together these Cause programs have touched the lives of tens of thousands of families while driving loyalty and affinity for P&G brands.
In September, Kash was named as P&G’s Fabric Care External Relations Leader for all Developing Markets, including Central & Eastern Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia.
Kash is originally from Houston, Texas and graduated with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently resides in Eden Park.

As the Director of Digital Marketing Strategy at DeVries Public Relations, Jon is a leader in digital communications planning. He has a strong background designing consumer-centric plans spanning multiple touch points and is an expert in social media strategy. He has spent his whole 14 year career in the digital marketing arena working with leading brands such as Yahoo!, Microsoft and P&G. Michelle Lentz, Blogger, Write Technology
Michelle Lentz launched Write Technology in 2003, specializing in social media, instructional design, and social learning. For several years, Michelle was Director of Training at Trivantis (Lectora). She has been presenting at national Training & Development conferences since 2000, and has presented at countless local events. She recently served as Vice President of Technology for the Greater Cincinnati ASTD and is on the National Planning Committee for the ASTD TechKnowledge 2010 conference in Las Vegas. Michelle also functions as a founding member and Technology/PR chair for the Krystal Pepper Memorial Scholarship. Jason Taylor, External Relations Manager, P&G Pet Care
Jason Taylor is an alumnus of The University of Colorado where he received his degree in Finance. Before joining Iams, he worked as a Cost Analyst for Lockheed Martin Astronautics in Denver, Colorado. He joined The Iams Company in 1998 heading the Finance Department at Iams Research and Development. Mr. Taylor then developed and managed of the Iams Office for Animal Welfare during the PETA crisis, with responsibility for creating new standards for external research and animal care. Mr. Taylor formally joined the Pet Care External Relations team just prior to the Pet Food Recall. He assumed leadership of the Pet Care External Relations team in December, 2008. Mr. Taylor and his wife Jennifer spend their free time breeding and showing purebred Afghan Hounds.
Meg Olberding, City of Cincinnati
Meg has been the City of Cincinnati’s Public Information Officer since 2003. As the city’s spokesperson and top communications professional, she works with City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr., the Assistant City Managers, Department Directors and key city staff on the topics that make the news daily. Whether its current budget rumors, H1N1 outbreaks or neighborhood issues, Meg handles many topics simultaneously and often after the “other” side has spoken. Meg has presented, “Making the Message Work: Crisis Communications for Leaders” at the Ohio Homeland Security Symposium in 2006 and has had extensive training in risk communications. Additionally, she works with community partners to promote positive city projects such as the renovation of Fountain Square, the many conventions coming to town, and the award-winning Neighborhood Enhancement Program. Prior to coming to the city government, this Cincinnati native and Xavier University graduate served as Executive Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and as the Director for Marketing Communications for Cincinnati Museum Center. She lives in the city and often enjoys the parks and many local amenities with her family.
Joe Feiertag, Public Affairs Manager, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
Joe has been with the airport for 17 years where he serves as public affairs manager, overseeing the airport’s publications, web site, economic impact studies. Prior to this position, Joe was a newspaper reporter and editor for 13 years, during which time he specialized in transportation, environmental and economic develop issues. Kim Ashley, Public Relations Director, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio
Kim Ashley is the public relations director for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio, the largest health insurer in the state, and subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc., a Fortune 50 company and largest insurer in the country. Kim brings 28 years’ experience in advertising, marketing and public relations to the area – the past 19 years of her career with Anthem. Although Kim’s current responsibilities are focused on media relations, she also supports Anthem’s statewide social responsibility efforts as the liaison for the President of the company, and previously managed a $2 million budget for Anthem’s charitable giving program. Kim earned the 2007 and 2008 Pinnacle Award for outstanding work in promoting corporate-wide innovation projects; and a first place “Best of Blue” award from the National Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association for Public Affairs work in 2006.

Carolyn Forte joined the staff of Good Housekeeping Magazine as an Assistant Editor in the Institute’s Textiles Department. Her career at Good Housekeeping has taken her through successive positions, including Associate Director of the Institute, and to her current role as Director of the Home Appliances and Cleaning Products Department. Ms. Forte is responsible for the development of the magazine’s home care advice and consumer buying editorial and the review of home care advertising which includes the testing and evaluation of products in the categories of laundry and clothes care, floor care, furniture care, dish care, and small and major home care appliances and equipment.
