Breakenridge is known for her books such as Putting the public back in Public Relations, PR 2.0: New Media, New Tools, New Audiences, The New PR Toolkit, and Cyberbranding.  Join us for her keynote presentation on the Hybrid PR Professional. As a result of PR 2.0 and social media, PR professionals are faced with reinventing their roles, as they shift from communication facilitators and handlers to PR champions and influencers.  They are taking on new responsibilities within their organizations, which are not only exciting but also challenging at the same time. How do PR professionals change and grow in the profession, and continue to raise the reputation of the PR industry, as they move forward?  These PR pros learn to embrace the hybrid approach to communications; an approach that focuses on taking the best of PR past and moving forward with new functions and skill sets that guide strategic communications to engage the socialized consumer.

Breakout panels this year include:

Panel One Choice

  • Domino’s: How Brutal Honesty Delivered Big Returns
  • Shoestring Budgets with Maximum Impact: Local Non-Profits Share Success Stories

Lunch/Keynote: Deidra Breakenridge

Local & National Media Speed Networking

Sit comfortably in your seat while media members make their rounds in true speed-networking fashion. Instead of meeting two or three media representatives, you'll have the chance to meet them all!

  • B-Cause It’s the Future: Nick Vehr and Jonathan Richman give advice on using social media for cause marketing and customer service.

Understanding Our Reservation/Cancellation Policy

Reservations are required for events since the location only makes the number of meals that we order.  We cannot guarantee space for walkins.  If you require a vegetarian meal, you need to state this at the time you make your reservation; however, all vegetarian meals are "Chef's Choice."  All meals need to be ordered in advance and substitutions will not be available the day of the event.

All of our meeting announcements include a reservation deadline and the statement that we cannot accept cancellations after that time.  This is because our contract with the location requires us to guarantee the number of meals we need to order at that time.  Once we place the guarantee we cannot lower our count. Therefore, we are billed for all meals we order at the time of our deadline whether we end up using them or not.

Our chapter by-laws state that members are responsible for payment of expenses incurred on their behalf by the Chapter when they have indicated their intention to participate in Chapter activities.  We understand that scheduling conflicts do arise, clients suddenly appear, people do get sick and sometimes the weather isn’t the best for driving.  However, please understand that if you have placed a reservation and not cancelled it by the deadline, so long as the program is held, you are responsible for the cost of your reservation.

NEW 3/2009:

  1. All non-member reservations must be prepaid.
  2. Reservations will not be accepted from anyone owing a balance from a prior event.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please don’t hesitate to ask Anne Campbell, acampbell@fuse.net or 513-446-4700.
