Laura Carr
L.A. Carr Communications
Laura Carr is a communications professional with over 30 years of experience in solving communications problems and enhancing organizational effectiveness. She develops and implements strategic public and community relations programs, marketing plans, community outreach, communication effectiveness studies, public awareness campaigns and special events.
She earned a Master of Arts degree in Management with a concentration in Team Development from Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, her certification in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts and certification in grant writing from The Grantsmanship Center.
Ms. Carr is a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati, Class XXVI and the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati African American Leadership Development Program, President of The Public Relations Society of America, Black Career Women Executive Committee and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She was recently recognized as a 2008 Athena Award Finalist by Cincy Magazine for her support of women in business and her volunteerism.

Chris Kemper, APR
Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce
Chris Kemper, APR, is the Public Relations Director at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership and determining strategy related to all public relations activities conducted by the Chamber, including programs, advocacy and events such as Taste of Cincinnati and Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati. Kemper has more than 10 years of experience related to media relations, writing, issues management, reputation management, promotions, speechwriting and internal communications. Previously, he held positions at National City Corporation, where he was a Vice President of Corporate Communications, Provident Bank, HSR Business to Business and Dan Pinger Public Relations. He is active in the Cincinnati community, serving on the boards of the American Cancer Society and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in addition to his work with PRSA. Kemper earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky.

Adrienne Gutbier, APR, is the Public Relations Director for Ohio National Financial Services. Proudly celebrating 100 years, Ohio National Financial Services traces its corporate origins to 1909. Today, Ohio National markets a variety of insurance and financial products through more than 50,000 representatives across the United States (all except Alaska and Hawaii), Puerto Rico and through subsidiary operations in New York (National Security Life and Annuity Company) and Santiago, Chile (Ohio National Seguros de Vida, S. A.).
Gutbier has more than 10 years of public and media relations experience. Her previous experience includes positions with Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc., the Indianapolis 500 Festival and the Indiana State Fair. In addition to her work with Cincinnati PRSA, she uses her communications and event planning skills in volunteer efforts for Clough United Methodist Church and other Cincinnati-based not-for-profit organizations. Gutbier graduated cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in Telecommunications and Political Science from Ball State University.

Jonathan Kissell has been a member of PRSA since 2005. In 2008, he served on the Cincinnati PRSA leadership team as the chairman of the New Professionals group. He took an active role with the New Pros as a committee member from 2005 to 2007. Jonathan works for Rumpke in its corporate communication department, and he manages internal and external communication efforts for the company, such as public relations, crisis management, community outreach, media relations, education, presentations, employee communication, marketing and advertising. Prior to Rumpke, Jonathan attended and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Dayton.

Jackie has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and public relations management. Game Day Communications, a sports and entertainment communications firm, provides traditional and new media for clients including Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, Cincinnati Home & Garden Show, Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network, Downtown Cincinnati Inc., Fountain Square Management Group and Marvin Lewis Community Fund.
Most notably, Jackie served as director of marketing and public relations at the Cincinnati Art Museum working with international, national and local media. Jackie was active in the arts community: chairing the Art Museum’s Fine Arts Fund campaign for five years, serving as committee member and chair of the National Arts Marketing Project. She has coordinated national press trips to New York and England, and has earned stories in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and USA Today and has also worked on crisis situations with 60 Minutes, Time Magazine, Good Morning America, CBS Saturday Morning and the Today Show. Prior to the Museum, Jackie was a public relations counselor at The Christ Hospital and Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati.
In 2001, she completed the Harvard Business School’s program, “Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management.” She is a member of American Marketing Association, Cincinnati Sports Professionals Networks, Public Relations Society of America and Ohio University National Alumni Board. Jackie is a board member of Dress for Success and Reds Community Fund. In 2008, Jackie was named PR Professional of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America, Cincinnati chapter. |

Dawn Woods, APR is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for
HealthSpan, a regional PPO network of hospitals, physicians, and ancillary
services owned by Mercy Health Partners and Catholic Healthcare Partners.
She currently serves as the Secretary of the board for the Tom Geiger Guest
House, an organization that provides housing for the homeless with a focus
on women and their children leaving domestic violence. She is a member of
the National Association of Heath Services Executives, the EwomenNetwork,
and the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and
Entertainment. She is a singer/songwriter having produced three CDs and
performs locally in various venues with the Dawn Woods Band. Dawn is a
member of the Mercy Health Partners Regional Cultural Awareness Steering
Committee, serves as Mercy’s marketing coordinator for Bridges Walk For A
Just Community and is a former member of the Catholic Healthcare Partners
Diversity Council serving 9 regions nationwide. Dawn is also a member of
