Reports to: Head of Associate Communications
Develop, execute and scale streamlined store communications strategy for the enterprise, designed to inspire, motivate and engage store associates and enable execution against business priorities. Execute corporate internal communications initiatives to improve associate experience, engagement and communication; drive business results; and deliver on Our Purpose and Promise by sharing the company’s unique story. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Establish, lead and execute the long-term strategy for all communications sent to store associates in all grocery retail divisions across the company
Create a strategic platform and disciplined process for delivering all store communications materials, which drive engagement, share information and convey change
Deliver simple and impactful communications to maximize productivity and promote sales through an enhanced associate experience, role clarity/accountability and connection of associates to Our Purpose
Develop and implement systems, governance and best practices for store communication through competitive market analysis, collaboration with key leadership and associate feedback
Lead research efforts and development of new/enhanced processes, delivering compelling content across multiple channels
Develop metrics and key performance indicators to support business strategy and measure the effectiveness of store communication programs; strengthen planning and execution of future communications
Oversee the integrity of communication standards; consult with key internal stakeholders to foster alignment and improve performance in all lines of business
Advise and strategically counsel leaders on opportunities to enhance two-way communication and drive associate engagement and execution
Partner with Associate Communications at corporate and in retail divisions to create cross-channel campaigns that effectively reach associates at all levels of the store
Promote and embed Our Purpose and Promise in all communication; establish stories/content to support these initiatives
Manage relationships with outside resources/consultants to deliver information; oversee completion of work from concept to delivery
Travel for research, associate engagement, fostering relationships and project management

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years corporate communications experience
Experience with retail store communication
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field
Strong oral/written and advisory skills and attention to detail
Ability to understand/translate business priorities
Demonstrated ability leading multiple projects simultaneously
Proven success in collaboration, innovation and delivery of business results
Ability to influence at all levels of an organization
Prior creative approach to strategic problem-solving, messaging and communication delivery
Proficient in Microsoft Office
DESIRED PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE:
7+ years corporate communications experience
Familiar with unions
Experience developing strategy that establishes systems, governance and best practices
