Position: Communications Coordinator
Classification: Non-exempt, part time (15-20 hours/week)
Reports to: Director of Operations
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting Director of Operations and Executive Director in marketing efforts that leverage donor database reports and broaden social media impact. Works in the Cincinnati, Price Hill office. May work from home occasionally
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate compilation, segmentation, and distribution of donor appeal letters to database
Generate and respond to donors with thank you letters. Type and/or reproduce correspondence for FOCAS staff
Event Planning - Substantial event coordinator duties for Fall Community Awareness Breakfasts and Special Events (i.e. board meetings)
Assist in the preparation of regular e-newsletters and printed newsletters describing FOCAS activities for current and potential donors.
Technically savvy and adept to the functionality of following social media formats: Website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
May serve occasionally as the receptionist for the Cincinnati Headquarters office.
High School graduate. Some college education is preferred.
Able to work in a very basic office environment in the inner-city.
Two to three years of related experience.
Good planner, well-organized, good attention to detail, able to multi-task.
Technically savvy and adept to the functionality and creation of following social media formats: Website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Computer Literate: Knowledge and intimately familiar with practical office and administrative applications of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Utilize Etapestry Database (i.e. Mail Merges, Report generation and analysis, Formatting and Printing various size documents, Presentations.)
Able to write effective letters and develop social media content
Able to work effectively with others as a team with minimum supervision.
Mature, independent worker, and able to work with people at ALL social and economic levels.
Must be a committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have a passion for transforming lives by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and assisting with crucial physical and spiritual needs to those in need. Able to subscribe to FOCAS values and statement of faith.
Willingness and desire to work with the poor and under-resourced.
