Communications Associate (Part-time Contract Basis) - Rick Miller Communications

Rick Miller Communications (RMC) helps organizations across the country develop and implement strategic communications and reputation management programs. 

Our virtual team of strategic communications and brand consultants offers deep, category-specific experience to our high-profile client base in healthcare, consumer products, social marketing and issues management.  

We would like to welcome to our team a part-time professional with 2+ years’ experience. Much of our work is virtual, with in-person team and client meetings as needed. We’re seeking a team member who has consistent weekday hours and some flexibility for evening or weekend assignments.  This role initially requires roughly 15-20 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Program implementation and evaluation, including writing for print, broadcast, and the web

·         Social media management and SEO

·         Secondary research and analysis

·         Media relations

·         Event logistics, management and staffing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The new team member will have a bachelor’s degree in communications or related field, and have a strong track record of leadership and experience gained through prior internships, full-time or contract (freelance) work assignments. Practical experience with social media and traditional media is essential – as is a passion for current events and issues locally and nationally. Proven ability to be a self-starter and to work independently is needed, complemented by attention to detail, knowledge of AP style, and excellent proofreading and editing skills.
