Position: Manager of Communications and Marketing

Job Description:

Advance the mission of The Children’s Home of Cincinnati in the areas of communications, marketing and public relations. Work in service to advancement, early childhood, education, community-based behavioral health, and other agency departments/initiatives in the creation and implementation of communications, marketing and public relations events, activities and materials. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to management of the following: strategy planning - image & reputation, media relations, website and electronic communications, crisis communications, and printed materials/publications/photography. Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement and the President & CEO.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, English or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience developing, managing and implementing communications and branding strategy in an organizational and/or agency environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain cooperative, supportive and friendly relationships with staff members, volunteers, parents, students and other constituents. Demonstrated knowledge of word processing, Microsoft Excel, publication design/layout, photography and editing. Professional experience with internet and web-based communications tools in addition to traditional communications channels. Superior writing skills and excellent verbal communications skills. Ability to think creatively, take initiative, solve problems, and manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects while working under specific deadlines. Self-starter who thrives in a challenging, fast paced environment. Familiarity and understanding of educational, behavioral health, and philanthropic practices and ethics.

 Some weekend and evenings required.
