Honoring outstanding work by the professionals in our public relations community.
In addition to highlighting outstanding project and campaign work, the Blacksmith Awards recognized three individuals for outstanding achievement:
- Rookie of the Year (presented to an outstanding member with three years or less of professional industry experience): Elaine Zeinner, Public Relations Specialist for the Kenton County Public Library
- Professional of the Year (presented to an outstanding member with five or more years of experience who has a record of professional achievement over the past year): Raymond “Buz” Buse III, Public Relations Director for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber
- Werner-VonderHaar-Bogart Award (career achievement award for individual service to the chapter, the profession, the community, and society): Mike Boehmer, Public Relations Specialist, Hamilton County Job & Family Services
In each category, an Award of Excellence was presented. In some categories, one or two finalists also received honorable mention.
