2011 Blacksmith Awards Winners

Cincinnati’s Public Relations Community Honored at the 2011 Blacksmith Awards

The Cincinnati chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored local public relations practitioners for their outstanding PR campaigns and tactics at the annual Blacksmith Awards on November 16 at the Madison Event Center in Covington.

The Best in Show-Campaign was presented to gyro Public Relations for their campaign “Luv the Nug” and the Best in Show-Tactic was presented to Mary Beth Weaver and James Czar for their work with the Cincy Blues Society.

Hosted by Amy Scalia, CEO and publisher of Cincy Chic, more than 100 PR professionals gathered at the event that also recognized individuals and agencies for their accomplishments in 2011.

Public Relations Professional of the Year was presented to Amanda Pratt, APR, Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc.; Young Public Relations Professional of the Year was Christine Demeropolis, Wordsworth Communications; the Communications Team of the Year was Luxottica (Corporate Communications/Internal Media Team) and the Mid-Size Agency of the Year was Wordsworth Communications.

The 2011 Blacksmith Awards were co-chaired by Shara Clark and Barbara Grimsley, and the committee included: Andrew Shipp, Gail Myers, Eliot Campbell, Claire Guappone, Jennifer L. Dexter, Cheryl Besl and Anna Hogan. Sponsors of the event were Strata-G Communications, PPS Group, Rock Fish Interactive, Halo Branded Solutions, The Eisen Agency and Flottman Printing.
